Here are some of the major differences between the 2020 Kia Forte and the 2020 Kia Optima.

 

2020 Kia Forte Performance Specs

The base model Forte is equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission or the available Continuously Variable automatic Transmission (CVT) option. Controlling a 2.0 liter 4 cylinder engine in all base models and measured to produce 147 horsepower. The 2020 Forte introduces a new GT-line that features a 1.6 liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine capping out at 201 horsepower. The GT-line has a standard 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission or the available option to install a 6-speed manual gearbox instead.  

Fuel economy varies depending on the transmission and whether or not you have the GT-line. 27 miles per gallon in the city and 37 miles per gallon on highway with base models and manual transmission. Base models with automatic transmission can get up to 31 miles per gallon in the city and 41 miles per gallon on the highway. The GT-line achieves  25 miles per gallon in the city to 32 miles per gallon on the highway with the manual transmission. GT-line with automatic transmission gets 27 to 35 miles per gallon. 

 

2020 KIA Optima Performance Specs

Among all of the trims for the 2020 Optima, you have the option (depending on trim) of any of the available engines: 2.4 liter 4-cylinder engine marked at 185 horsepower (comes Standard), 1.6 liter 4-cylinder turbocharged engine calling in 178 horsepower (comes with the EX trim), and 2.0 liter 4-cylinder Turbo I-4 engine hauling in 245 horsepower (comes with the SX trim). There is an automatic transmission on all engine types. 

Fuel economy varies on the type of engine. The 1.6 liter engine gets 27 miles per gallon in the city and 37 miles per gallon on the highway. The 2.4 liter engine gets 24 to 32 miles per gallon (city-highway). The 2.0 liter engine supplies you with 21 miles per gallon in the city and 30 miles per gallon on the highway.  

 

2020 KIA Forte Safety Features 

On the 2020 Forte, KIA made sure to provide their drivers with a hefty handful of standard safety technology. Standard for the 2020 Forte there will be rearview camera, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, automatic emergency braking, driver attention and drowsiness monitor, and forward collision warning.
