How often should you replace windshield wipers?
There are things we do on a regular basis for our car. We fill it with gas, replace the oil and filters, even wash it. Sometimes, we even get help remembering when to do this regular maintenance. That is to say if we are low on gas a warning light comes on. Or, when we have our oil changed a sticker is placed on the inside of our windshield to remind us of when to return for the next oil change. But what about wipers? How often should you replace windshield wipers? The short answer is twice a year.
Why is it important?
It’s important to change your wipers on a regular basis because they endure daily wear and tear. The sun deteriorates the rubber on the blades and the ice and wind can put nicks in it. The truly dangerous part is that you may not realize you need to replace your wiper blades until you are in the middle of a blinding rainstorm. This is can feel like driving with a blindfold and there is nothing you can do about it in the moment. That’s why it is so very important to change your wiper blades at least twice a year.
