Racetracks near High Point NC
North Carolina is nothing short of racetrack country. As home to a number of NASCAR teams, this beautiful state is also host to dozens upon dozens of wonderful local racing facilities. But are there any racetracks near High point, NC? Though we don’t have any real racetracks within our city limits, there are a lot of wonderful locations that are only a short drive away. Enjoy the competition and the concessions provided by your local racing venues.
As a nearly half-mile track, this impressive asphalt short track promises high speeds, tons of thrills, and fun for the whole family. With events nearly every Friday night in Sophia, this track could make for the perfect start to any weekend this summer. This NASCAR track has hosted legends over the years including the Intimidator himself, Dale Earnhardt.
Bowman Gray Stadium
Don’t let its name fool you, this isn’t just a stadium, it’s a racetrack. In fact, it is the only track in the world that can claim to be NASCAR’s oldest weekly racetrack. With a history that dates back to 1937, this ¼-mile asphalt oval flat track promises to offer tight and fast racing. This iconic Winston-Salem track offers racing nearly every Saturday.
Sometimes a circle track isn’t what you are looking for. Sometimes you just want to see cars gun it in a straight line showing you everything that they got. If that sounds like a blast, then head on over to Piedmont Dragway in Julian. They have events Thursday through Sunday most weekends including some nights where you can bring your own ride.
If you have a need for good old-fashioned flat track motorcycle racing on dirt, then Woodleaf Speedway offers a special place that will warm your heart.
