What kind of car is the 2026 Kia EV9 GT?

The GT trim stays true to the EV9 platform. It’s an all-electric large SUV, albeit a high-performance one. From what we’ve gathered so far, it offers three-row seating inside, and can comfortably seat six to seven people.

What cars will the 2026 Kia EV9 GT compete against?

The EV market hasn’t witnessed performance like this before, but if you want a ballpark idea of where the EV9 GT lies, think of it in terms of a Tesla Model X, an Audi e-tron GT, or a Ford Mustang Mach-E GT. The EV9, by comparison, is much more reasonably priced than all of those.

What kind of performance can I expect from the 2026 Kia EV9 GT?

From the 2024 CEO Investor Day presentation that Kia did, the EV9 GT is said to have “enormous power,” and will go from 0 to 62 mph in just four seconds.

Its engine will be modeled after the Kia EV6 GT engine, which has a dual motor setup churning out 576 hp. That means the EV9 GT will be as powerful, if not more.

We’re expecting it to come with AWD standard, giving it almost-perfect handling and traction in all conditions.

What range can I expect from the 2026 Kia EV9 GT?

Because it’s the sportier trim with an AWD drivetrain, we anticipate its overall range will be slightly lower than the standard EV9. However, the standard range is up to 330 miles, so the GT’s range won’t be that much lower, which is still fantastic for a sporty SUV.
